FillCue

SMS Opt-In Policy

Effective date: March 20, 2026

What Is FillCue?

FillCue is a substitute-finding platform that helps professionals and organizations fill coverage gaps. When someone needs a substitute — whether for an orchestra concert, a court reporting assignment, or any other professional engagement — FillCue runs automated outreach to qualified contacts via email and SMS until coverage is confirmed.

Why Did I Receive a Message?

You received an SMS from FillCue because a professional colleague added you to their substitute contact list. This person believes you may be available and qualified to cover an upcoming engagement. You did not need to create an account or provide your number directly to FillCue — your colleague provided it based on your pre-existing professional relationship.

How Opt-In Works

When a FillCue user adds contacts to their substitute list, they certify that:

  • They have a pre-existing professional relationship with each contact.
  • They have informed each contact that they may receive SMS and email notifications about coverage requests through FillCue.
  • Contact information was obtained through direct professional relationships — not purchased lists, scraped databases, or data brokers.

Before a contact receives any SMS from FillCue, the FillCue user who added them must acknowledge this attestation. The first SMS you receive from FillCue will identify who added you and include opt-out instructions.

Example first message:

"Hi [Name], [Colleague Name] added you to their FillCue substitute list. You may receive coverage request notifications via SMS text message. Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Msg&data rates may apply."

What Messages Will I Receive?

FillCue sends transactional messages only. We never send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages. The types of SMS you may receive include:

  • Coverage requests: A notification that a colleague needs a substitute for a specific engagement, with a link to accept or decline.
  • Reminders:A follow-up if you haven't responded to a pending coverage request before it expires.
  • Confirmations: A confirmation when you accept or when the position has been filled.
How to Opt Out

You can stop receiving SMS messages from FillCue at any time using any of these methods:

  • Reply STOP to any FillCue SMS message. You can also reply UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT.
  • Use the web form at fillcue.com/optout to opt out by entering your phone number.
  • Email us at [email protected] with your phone number and we will remove you within one business day.

Once you opt out, you will not receive any further SMS messages from FillCue. You may still receive email notifications if your email is on a colleague's contact list — use the unsubscribe link in any email to opt out of those separately.

Reply HELP to any FillCue message for assistance, or email [email protected].

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on how often colleagues include you in coverage requests. Most contacts receive a few messages per month. FillCue enforces per-phone rate limits to prevent excessive messaging.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

Your Data

FillCue stores only the information provided by the colleague who added you: your name, phone number, and email address. We also record your response history (accepted, declined, or no response) to coverage requests.

We do not sell your personal information. SMS messaging is powered by Twilio. For full details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

To request deletion of your data, email [email protected].
